  • The only snoozefests were ENGLAND v ECUADOR & UKRAINE v SWITZERLAND - the other six games were fascinating desperate battles to get through to the quarters! Just because there weren't lots of goals (obligatory requirement for people over in America?) doesn't mean that the World Cup is losing its fizz!
  • the ghanaian team had great many chances and had ppl rooting fer the underdog pulling out their hair in frustration. but then they dint try to get too close to the goal. but then the brazilian defence was almost impossible to cut through. with nearly 4 on one at minimum, it would have shattered the nerve of the first timers. but one thing that can be said for the african first timer was their remarkable possession of the ball. nearly 53% of the time, and with amazing snatches. it was a good game, even if they lost coz of their lack of precision on the goals.

  • I set out to blog every World Cup game, and have written posts for most of the games, but I'm totally sick of the referees and the cheats and the defensive systems - it's such a turn-off. I just can't be bothered writing about the games yesterday. The sad thing is that the tournament started with so much 'fizz' - I thought it was going to be great...
