Ronaldo can never ecpect to be a legend just a passer by whos name will be forgotten as the wind blows by.

IF HE STAYS BOO HIM AT OT

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

ronaldo

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

Let Ronaldo leave, we dont need him and i think some fans, like myself want him to leave for his lack of respect and his unloyalty to the club. A player i would like to see at Man Utd would have to be Andrei Arshavin i think he would fit perfectly into utd's style. And then of course Robinho, Sneijder, and Sergeio Ramos doesn't sound too bad ;) When you think about it i think they should try to get Robben too :P

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

I notice Ronaldo is not one of the players used to promote the new Man Utd away kit which was lauched this week......

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

I think its really sad how all the top players now adays are only concerened with money. In the case of Ronaldo it is even more silly considering he has, and has gone some way, to becoming one of the best players to have ever played the game. If you are thriving at a club, why leave? It may have been your dream to play in Spain one day, but isn't the possibility of becoming one of the greatest players ever more enticing to an ego like Ronaldo's? I know if it was me in that position an extra couple of million wouldn't stir me into leaving a place I was excelling at. If Ronaldo does leave United then I wish him nothing but bad luck as the lack of loyalty, decency and pure manners to the United staff and fans who have shown him nothing but respect is discraceful. $70m plus Ramos and Sneijder? Sounds good to me!

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

the age of a team icon ended with Paolo Maldini. Keep in mind Portugal has only qualified for three of the last ten world cups so assuming they'll qualify is a stretch especially considering their two golden generations of players have won them absolutely nothing. So he needs to cash in now. Champions League champ, PL champ, Euro hype. Two years from now he may simply be a marginal player coming off the bench at a very good United team who is led by World Champ Wayne Rooney or Carlos Tevez. (Tevez needs to fight his way into the Argentine squad though) That may sound crazy but it isn't as crazy as you think. One missed international tournament and you are yesterdays news. Teams like Potrugal whose football history is spotty could collapse at a moments notice especially in the tough qualifying group they have been handed.

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

after watching the germany-portugal game last night it became glaringly apparent that a good part of ronaldo's greatness is due to the 10 other united players he plays with. he is a talented but only as "great" as the team he plays with. Interesting to see what happens to him at Madrid.

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

What I find interesting is that because United won the Champions League this year it caused the plan to change for Ronaldo to move to Madrid 2 seasons before he was supposed to. I truely believe that United planned for Ronaldo to be with them until after the World Cup Cup in 10 and after the World Cup was the time that they were going to sell Ronaldo to Madrid. If you think about it Ronaldo has won all there is to win in Manchester with the Champions League, 2 Prem Titles, and an FA Cup on his CV. What does bother me a bit is why did Ronaldo sign a extention last summer and if United really wanted to could make Ronaldo sit for the duration of the contract since I believe they have him under terms until after the 2010-2011 season. Here is hoping they get a ton of money and a player like Ramos and Sneijder from Madrid and they make them pay out the nose for him.

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

Trade CR to Barcelona for Messi and Iniesta. His technical ability is there for all to see but he restrains his step over and nut-megs for solid clearances

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

After reading this article with interest and also the comments below one caught my eye. 'Mark Wordsalad' delivers a very interesting point. I agree with the fact that we need 2 more world class players but Dirk Kuyt and Keiran Richardson wouldnt be ideal. Firstly Kuyt will be chased by every major club in eurpoe so getting him would be doubtful and also Keiran doesnt fit into our slow style of play and defensive football. If i was Sir Alex i would put in bids to sign solid CB Andy Hinchcliffe and also speedy striker Ramon Vega. If we have money left over i think that Benito Carbone would be an ideal coup. If all else fails bring back George Best.

Thankyou and goodnight
xx

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

I persoanlly think Ronaldo isn't worth the disgrace hes bringing to our club. History has shown that footballers decline after amazing years where they play virtually above any level they should have achieved. Even if Ronaldo was to be better next year I wouldn't want him playing at Man U with the likes of true reds such as Scholes and Giggs who have shown their loyalty over the years. Every time we score I wouldn't want him to be part of the celebration and every time he scored I wouldn't want our team to cheer with him. I say take as much money as possible for him and replace him with other great players, we deffinitely need a prolific striker so Dirt Kuyt comes to mind. And to replace him on the wing we could get Kieran Richardson back.

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

Selling C. Ronaldo would make Ronaldinho a good fit at Man U from a marketing perspective. Nike already has a deal with Manchester United and they are desparate to get Ronaldinho into the Premier League for marketing purposes, so desparate that they are considering Manchester City.

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

The article is well written and I expect a 75m pounds cash deal to be concluded in mid-july.After that Utd will buy Benzema and David Silva.

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

If he wants to leave and play in Spain.Sell him to Barcelona.

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

It’s not just Cristiano Ronaldo that lacks loyalty and commitment (Ian Wright correctly stated as a footballer he has bundles of class, but as a man he is still found wanting). They should just try and get as much $ as possible for him.

Check out:
http://footballssoul.wordpress.com/2008/06/18/t...

Re: Why Manchester United Should Let Cristiano Ronaldo Go

Let us sell Ronaldo at a price of no less than a hundred million pounds Plus Ramos and Robinho and Sneijder to Real Madrid.
