Arsenal needs to buy the likes of David Villa & any other 22-24 year old world-class mid-fielder and deffender. This will make them go places, but as it stands, it may be another year of rising and falling hopes and fanally disappointment for all Arsenal fans across the globe.Arsenal lost out last season mainly because they had no bench except Theo Walcot.Arsenal needs to seat up.

timmyg -- King claims that he never "failed" a medical at Fulham...he claims it was just a negotiating tactic. I suspect Wigan was able to come in with the cash Watford was looking for.

I personally thought it would have been a good buy for Fulham also. They haven't had a strong presence up front since McBride went down injured. King could have given them that. Eddie Johnson's a bit different player but hopefully he can do well for them.

Here's what I love about being a Fulham fan: bias.

Everyone in the media was slagging the Cottagers for paying a ridiculous amount (which is true) for the lad. Yet Wigan paid substantially more after King 'reportedly' failed a medical and everyone is reporting how its a great pickup for the Lactics.

Can anyone explain to me how is this better??

I don't think Landzaat was a bad decision. He hasn't been that brilliant since his move and recouping 1m isn't bad considering he's 30. I haven't seen him as anything other than a decent but tough player. This does, however, leave Wigan slightly short in midfield.

Good move by Wigan, though, to get Marlon King. Even though his transfer fee may be a bit inflated, he's still better than most people give him credit for. Him and Marcus Bent should be a decent enough partnership to give Wigan a fair shot at staying in the Prem.

Selling Landzaat was idiotic by Wigan. He is a quality player who unlike the internationals from the Brtish Isles will be starting in Euro 2008.
