  • It matters only in that everbody would prefer to win rather than lose. If they played well, individual players got the playing time they need to be ready for the opening of the season, and no one got injured, then a loss is not that big a deal.

    Or NOT.

    Nobody gives a shit about friendly results, only moronic fans who get worked up over what managers and players see as nothing more than a fitness training session.

    To quote Phil Brown himself: "'I'm not really bothered about football and the organisational side until early August when we play Hearts and Osasuna. The friendlies prior to that are me trying to get 90 minutes under their belts.'"
