EPL Talk: Rafa Needs to Drop Dirk Kuyt and Start Peter Crouch

I agree with that 100% kuyt does not have the finshing abilities, and he does not have the skill to threaten defences. The dropping of Crouch is a personal issue between benitez and crouch. Unfortunately it is costing the team. I wish he starts with crouch against besiktas. Liverpool are unbeaten, but they have drawn more games than they have won. I started this season watching the reds, i was confident, i would predict 6-0 against derby, i expected then to thrash Wigan, Birmingham. But now my i am unsure what the team is going to do on the pitch.I doubt this team in every game now. Voronin, Kuyt, Rise, Hyppia and Sissoko are not upto standard.

I have been saying the same thing for weeks.

Crouch is not a great header of the ball which, because of his height, clouds the judgement of him. He is actually a fairly decent striker when the ball is on the ground.

He also has the large man in the box factor where he freaks out opponents and creates space for everyone else.

Yes, he scores goals mostly against lesser opponents. But, that is who Liverpool are having trouble with. Ridiculous

Torres aside, none of our forwards are reliable in front of goal. We need a goal getter/poacher type but rafa prefers a player who 'works' for the team but does fu*k all else.
Kuyt is average, the dutch league is akin to a pub league and is not an indicator of what a player is capable of.

However, given the current situation, i would indeed use crouch over kuyt ANYDAY. Kuyt has had his chance and should be given until the end of the season, after that bye bye.

I actually think Kuyt is playing better than he did last season - though that does not mean he deserves to be in the team. I thought he played well against Everton but that has been about it this season.

Perhaps his reluctance to play Crouch could be an indication that he will be sold in the January transfer window. It makes sense not to play him too often.

But once again I wonder at Benitez. Love him as I do - some of his decisions seem, in the short term, very strange.
