Crouch is not a great header of the ball which, because of his height, clouds the judgement of him. He is actually a fairly decent striker when the ball is on the ground.
He also has the large man in the box factor where he freaks out opponents and creates space for everyone else.
Yes, he scores goals mostly against lesser opponents. But, that is who Liverpool are having trouble with. Ridiculous

Kuyt is average, the dutch league is akin to a pub league and is not an indicator of what a player is capable of.
However, given the current situation, i would indeed use crouch over kuyt ANYDAY. Kuyt has had his chance and should be given until the end of the season, after that bye bye.

Perhaps his reluctance to play Crouch could be an indication that he will be sold in the January transfer window. It makes sense not to play him too often.
But once again I wonder at Benitez. Love him as I do - some of his decisions seem, in the short term, very strange.
