Just looked at it on the Newcastle website and it is almost a jewel-tone purple by the looks of the photo there. Horrid ! I agree with the reader that said they should have gone all black or all white.

I saw another picture of the shirt elsewhere and it's definitely purple, not blue. Expect quite a few Barney The Dinosaur jokes aimed at the Toon this upcoming season.

At first glance, when scrolling down the blog, I missed the headline that this was Newcastle's kit, and thought that this was the story of Owen signing with Chelsea! Not that Owen is the answer for the sure-to-be-departing Drogba, but my heart skipped a beat!

I wouldn't even call it blue really, look at the nufc.co.uk home page it looks more like purple.

It's boring, uninteresting. It's a left over design from adidas made by someone who didn't care at all. The only good thing is that I won't be spending my money on another shirt.

It's ok..just ok. Newcastle usually have good away kits, but this one is kinda dull.
