Carra and Finnan were rocks, Riise bombing down the left like the old days, and Gerrard effective.



Too bad Pennant and Arbeloa hadda ruin the clean sheet, but it's the result that counts.

Gerrard's best game this season-he was everywhere tonight.
the new spanish fullback didn't let messi touch the ball, but was at fault for covering the offside for eidur's goal.

carra was amazing, as always.

bellamy and kuyt- worked very hard, but were yet again unable to score, which is a problem.

sissoko covered a lot of space, but the early yellow made him a bit more cautious than usual.

overall, pool deserved to go through!
