  • Agreed. Great piece Gaffer. Engelar has thus far been the revelation of this tournament and is apparently headed to Schalke in July! I'm thrilled to see the Bundesliga sign this incredibly gifted late bloomer.

NOTE TO THE USSF: THIS IS WHY YOU CAN ALLOW GUYS WHO BLOOM LATE AND DON'T PARTICIPATE IN THE U-17, U-20 AND U-23 SETUPS TO PLAY FOR THE FULL NATIONAL SIDE WHEN THEY REACH 28 OR 29. AMERICA IS THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO THE BEAUTIFUL GAME. (ALTHOUGH TONY SANNEH IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF AN ENGELAR TYPE LATE BLOOMER FROM THE US, BUT WE'VE GOTTEN AWAY FROM THAT. EDDIE ROBINSON SHOULD BE IN THE US TEAM!)

    It's luck.
