Firstly,these are only my opinions .Gaffer,good idea for the upcoming columns from yourself but I think you must consider your 'arguments'/beliefs for example 'poor sod'. From all that you have said I would think we are in agreement that Garrido is not good enough for the job he was purchased for. Not Hughes choice, but he has obviously thought either Garrido needs time and/or honing for Premiership life.On the other hand, is not part of City's future. Either way that is a fact of football. Poor sod? Why? Yes he has been exposed because we have been without Petrov to ease his plight, but would you ever accuse Petrov of constantly running back to help out?So even when Petrov is fit the situation will not change in that respect.He knows the risk inherent in any professional sport. In fact lets face it in any job. If you cannot do the job you are there for ...you will soon feel the consequence! Garrido has had long enough for someone to see if he can 'fit the bill'. Purely and simply he does not actually defend well. Ball has in the main played better.Yes it does seem I am being harsh, but in reality I am just being objective. When he first started Playing for City I was wishing Garrrido all the best , he did quite well,then as his game faltered I was hoping he could get back his early promise. He may yet show improvement.I actually like him. Now on the other hand there are other players that should without doubt be shown the door.Vassel, Benjani, Fernandez ...yes Fernandez !! He does not have 'presence' in any mid-field position , physically he is light-weight too. Onuoha, once hailed as a future England player . He has not improved, his passing is awful, he ball watches far too much for a premiership player.There has been talk late last year of selling him so I am not the only person of this mind. I do appreciate what you have said about Ball he has tried as hard as any player and certainly you can see the pain in him when things go wrong ( same cannot be said of other 'City' players) but he is reaching the latter part of his career. Again not the future.Same for Hamann, Johnson by all accounts (whispers behind the scenes) is not trying and has delusions of his 'greatness'. I have great hopes for Bojinov and Petrov when fit. Bojinov has said in an Italian paper the he relishes the chance to play alongside Robinho so any rumour of Bojinov going to Lazio are hopefully false. As for Jo' ? I don't know.My head says "he has not worked out" another Samaras? Anyway Gaffer ,good luck for your series and will look forwards to it.

Most clubs operate the 1 reserve player for all positions. If thats the case then Garrido has little of a future left at City. I agree with Barry, i do believe that Garrido is a nice guy who genuinely cares, unlike some foreigners, however i just can't see Hughes dumping Ball for a unproven spanish journeyman.
If we are talking forgotten men then take a look at Kevin Nolan at Bolton and James Beattie, although he's slumming it at Sheffield United now....

I agree with RT , Ball never made the good assist to other . He is an ordinary football player. Garrido should be supported to drag his tatent out like serving free kick or well cooperation with Robinho and others. If you do not believe , please review games of Robinho played with Garrido and Robinho played with Ball . You can see the differences.

DR LL - City can't defend though. At all. They just can't. What's the point if Garrido's crosses or attacking play is great - he is a left back not a left midfielder. Once in a while a rare fullback like Bosingwa comes along who can attack and defend, but Garrido should learn the former rather than the latter, and he would be a staple in any Premier League team....
