Amazing...the team underachieves and the owners are blamed. Have the Yanks made mistakes? Yes, they threw Rafa under the bus with the Klinsmann story but at the same time Rafa himself shoulders some blame for making the environment acidic for the owners instead of supporting his own employer. Now fans are talking about not supporting Liverpool FC? Come on, you are supposed to support your team no matter if it has idiots who own it or not...the badge means more then just who the current owners.

Either way, Liverpool fans & players need to get real: not finding a consistent team of XI and a long line of draws is a much bigger reason for Liverpool's league position then anything the owners have done. If the fans don't get realistic and acknowledge this truth then they are just as delusional as the Newcastle United fans who somehow think that their current squad should be Champions League material instead of struggling mid-table.

Too bad, so now the Reds fans have the Yanks to beat up on. clearly not winning the title this year is all because of Hicks and Gillet. Liverpool was on their way to the title easily, just as they have been each of the last 17 seasons. These two Yanks who should go off and start a war as I've seen many comments say on different sites ruined the best team in world football, a team that has dominated their domestic league for the past fifteen years. Oh that's right, that was my nightmare last night!

How naive of you guys to think the problem with Hicks and Gillett is so simple:

They've input NO money of their own so far, restricted the transfer expenditure to less than previous years and made numerous public gaffes.

Hicks has compared the club to buying Weetabix, told Texas Rangers fans money from Liverpool could be put into Rangers and Stars teams, approached Klinsmann, admitted to approaching Klinsmann. Lied about backing Benitez in the transfer market.

Who's saying fans are blaming the current performance of the TEAM on the owners? Im not but it cant be helping thats for sure.

Typical Liverpool. For the past 15 years there fans have always looked for someone or something to blame. They never look at the larger picture, or imagine that there's anything other than one thing wrong. They need to realize that the problems at Liverpool go deeper than a couple of Yanks or the odd dodgey player. The truth is that they are a club stuck in the past, without a firm direction or ethos. They need a real leader to define their direction and I'm afraid thats not tinkerbell Rafa.

A good/bad read, but one of many I have induldged in, in my quest to understnd your sport. It makes me ill and ashamed! Hicks/Gillett don't even get along.
