The rumor’s flying around the soccer world are that William Gallas has been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy and dropped from the squad to play Manchester City tomorrow following the Frenchman’s outspoken comments about his teammates this week.

  • They ought to stip him of that stupid haircut too...

    Seriously though, at this point, does anyone still have any respect for Gallas? He's not the player that he was, and though his comments may be 100% true (and I think they are), a good captain adresses these issues with the individuals involved, not with a journalist.

    Oh, well - can't say that I'm sad to see the Arse struggling!
  • Seems it is eas to gang up on Gallas, who really is trying to do the job - and a lot of quotes are taken out of context -- we all know that. He did not point the finger or name names And he is right in regard to the weakness of Arsenal. The beautiful passing and finesse is broken up by the rougher football players -- just look at what Stoke can do to the team play. Anyway, i don't think Gallas deserves nastiness dumped at him...perhaps a change of captain is a good resolve however.
  • Gallas needs to go not only for his comments and attitude but his form in the back has been average at best. Not everything can be blamed on him but he is not only the captain, he is the supposed leader of a defense which has been very inconsistent and has leaked a lot of goals as of late...
