Fox Soccer Channel has revolutionized the soccer on TV experience in America, bringing it to the masses.

But, that said, they do have room to improve (which will help their ratings, bring in more money through advertisers and will end up with a final product that is much better to watch).

Good point about the PPV audience. I wonder how large it is and how many people pay for the service? It'd be interesting to know, to understand what type of impact it would have on the live up-to-date show idea.

Let's see how "Super Saturday Plus" develops and how they mix it up over time.

Re: Fox Soccer Channel Makes Me Schitzo | EPL Talk

Small steps. I think we can't look a gift horse in the mouth. Being able to watch 3-7 games a week - including one or two "live" - is a lot better than what we used to have.

I don't think they'd want to put a live show on from 10-12 because it might cut into their PPV audience. Myself, I pay for one or two PPV matches a month (like Saturday's Liverpool-Tottenham), but probably wouldn't if there was a live up-to-date show on the air. The paid-programming they air instead encourages me to throw down the $20 for PPV (a price that should be lowered to $10, imo).

In terms of areas to improve, I think their weekly EPL show is practically worthless since it really only focuses on the games they aired (instead of the entire league). You have to be a fan to watch the show and if you're a fan you've already seen those games.

This new thing they're trying with "Super Saturday" has potential, but it's too early to tell whether it improves the experience or it's just fluff.
