Great article Josh. I have Football Manager but I honestly haven't played it that many times because it's quite overwhelming with all of the options available. Plus, I know that I'll end up ploughing a lot of time into it if I get hooked.

What for you, the readers, is the better game? Championship Manager or Football Manager?

Football Manager by far. I have never won a continental trophy in my years of playing. Frankly, I just suck. Christian Naizmath in FM08 turned out to be a world class striker when I play in the Ukraine. Ended up selling him for 15 mil plus a 40% sell on clause

I think it was 03/04 when I signed Emile Mpenza from Standard Liege. The only reason he's so memorable is that he went on an immediate tear scoring a hat trick in each of his first six games. I couldn't tell you if he finished top of the Bundesliga scoring charts (I know he didn't manage to break Gerd Müller's record). He may not have even been my best signing of all-time. But he certainly had the best start of any of my players.
