wow. Italy is old and sucky. Who'd a thunk it?
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
of course two of the big teams are going out of the group of death, because they are all technically big teams to the tournament genius

More quality than Wesley Sneijder, who van Basten played on the left tonight? Not a chance, my friend, not a chance.

The dutch were amazing. But Lets be honest here, how many of us had Holland winning it 3-0 beforehand?
  • Brasileiro · 1 year ago
Well my mate said Holland would score 3, I told him Holland would win but laughed at such a score.

Michael, RVP has already reported to Van Basten that he wants to play through the middle. As a result he will be resigned as second choice forward (infront of much hyped Huntelaar and Celtic big man with the long name) and may start in the game against Romania. Also Sneijder is likely to fall back deep to partner the impressive Engelaar if Robben is fit (again his return date likely to be Romania) thus replacing the subtle De Jong who i like very much as a player. France as i expected cannot rely on Ribery to replicate the influence Zidane have, nor can they rely on their wingers/fullbacks esp the ones chosen by Domenech to break down discipline teams. Add to the fact they play two defensively minded midfielders (both impressive but have no real goal scoring threat) and the ridiculous laid back tactics employed against Romania (not to press up the park nor attempt to be really win the game in tactical changes), and you have disaster. Though in the context a draw may not be a poor result. Decision to leave Trezeguet home and rely on the tried and tested rather than who is on form could be crucial.

I still expect Italy to get out of the group. Traditionally they are slow starters however Donadoni has to realise that the Milan midfield will not work. The selection of De Rossi, Cassano (my pick), Chellini, Gamberini, Del Peiro and/or Grosso would revitalise this Italian team.

i still think van persie is a very talented center forward and i dont think he could be compared to sneijder. theyre diffrent. i think van persie has the potential to be as good as van nistelroy if he keeps his fitness for the next 4 years. he's got the potential. i may be biased though. he does have the potential. everything's there, he just has to be more consistent. at arsenal, there is no question he is our best striker. much more talented than adebayor. we've been waiting for him to play a full season and score 30 goals for the past 2 seasons. its bound to happen.

as far as france, i think the full back choices are obviously wrong. clichy and sagna could do a much better job. abidal has not had a good season since leaving lyon last year. i suggest starting samir nasri as well. but im obviously biased. im wondering what number samir nasri will have at arsenal next season. it will be either hleb's #13, flamini's #16, alumunia's #24, or the vacant #23. i think nasri's number is 22 at marseille. alumunia would get the #1 from lehman.

RVP, Robben, Saha, Owen, Ashton and on a total different level Messi, all good players all injury prone.

Speaking of Messi, I watched the Argentina demolition exposition of Mexico and Messi was absolutely electric. If he can stay healthy, best player in the world. He was changing direction and pace better than me on my xbox.

See, I got them both spot on. lol.
