Very nice Gaffer - top drawer this and if England were in it I'd do it, that said I will get one for next season so i can stream FSC to my workbox!

I have friends that live in Hong Kong and watch their parents cable feed from Delaware via Slingbox. If you own two houses, and you pay for all the soccer channels at home - it's a great way to get all those channels for nothing (other than your internet) at the summer house.

...I hope you're getting some serious swag from them, Gaff - your post will spread the slingbox gospel.

We bought our Slingbox so my partners dad could watch Premier League games on Sky.

If your watching on a computer however you need quite a fast upload rate, when I first bought it I only had around 350kbit which didnt give that great a picture, upgraded to a 700kbit upstream and at least now its watchable and better quality than most of the football streams commonly found on the Internet.

Slingbox mobile works great though, found it to be pretty reliable and of course with such a small screen as most phones have you dont need as much bandwidth to transmit a pretty good picture. Of course unless you have an unmetered internet connection on your phone it does work out pretty expensive.

I prefer HAVA from myhava.com over slingbox. I have HAVA for about couple months and it is lovely. HAVA have something that sling don’t. You can pause live TV and record to your local HD like TIVO. For example when my kids call me I push pause, then play and pick up were I was in the TV show. It’s really nice future.

Hava is pants. slingbox has DVR functionality in its new player - SlingPlayer 2.0. If you want Hava then go for it - if you want the real deal and an endless array of viewing clients - sling it.

HAVA is Windows only - no MAC support, and no non-Windows phones, so if you've got Symbian, you're outta luck...and I don't believe you can buy it in the UK yet, so you'd have to import it, make sure it doesn't go bang when you plug it into 240v, and pay import duties on it...much less hassle to grab a Slingbox locally!
