Come on, he came up via the play offs and then what - was exposed as weak in the Premiership? Of course. His squad should never have came up in honesty and then to slaughter him is unfair.
THis does by the way show the inequity of the transfer market. An new man (rumoured to be Ince) will come in and have to wait till Jan 1 to bring in players. This is hardly far on the manager or the club - chances are they will relegated by then. I feel for Davies, I dont think any manager could keep the current players up.

Re: Derby County Sack Billy Davies

Feilhaber like all other Americans are s%^$# that should go back to MLS or play College Soccer. Which manager exactly do you think could save them from relegation?

Re: Derby County Sack Billy Davies

If Alex McLeish takes this job, he's a moron. With the job he did at Scotland he could have a more high-profile, more prestigious club job either in England or Europe than Derby or Birmingham or any of the other Premiership bottom-feeders. Scotland's WC 2010 qualification group isn't too difficult as they should challenge Holland to win the group and at the least, make the second-place playoffs, so I could see McLeish sticking around through qualifying if he was to receive a salary raise.
