The hype about Liverpool's strenght in europe will certainly not count. As far Arsenal is concerned, this is just another domestic tie. The stake is however higher for Arsenal who will be looking forward to wining the three games. Tall order.

Re: Champions League Quarter-Final Draw and Early Predictions

Burt, I didn't mean to downplay the Arsenal - Liverpool matchup. It will be as big a game but given that the teams playing three times in a week, I don't think we'll see classic flowing football.

From an in-game perspective I just thought the Roma - MUFC match would be better viewing. Judging it from a drama and headlines/hype for the media, Liverpool - Arsenal is definitely bigger.

Re: Champions League Quarter-Final Draw and Early Predictions

I don't know.. I would say the BIG news was the drawing of Arsenal against Liverpool. That's what most news sites are saying, and I agree. The whole league match in between only adds to the interest. Don't get me wrong though, I like that Man U is drawn against Roma too. It was one of last year's better draws.

Re: Champions League Quarter-Final Draw and Early Predictions

I agree on three of your four picks. I don't see Arsenal getting by. Liverpool and Arsenal will play three times in that week and Arsenal needs all three matches, while Liverpool can rest players in the domestic match. That's a big edge; either way, the managers earn their money that week.

http://startingeleven.blogspot.com/2008/03/cham...
