EPL Talk: Can Liverpool Turn Luck into Fortune?

Phil, good points. One of the main reasons for their good defense has been an inspired Jose Reina. I still would like to see Daniel Agger in the starting lineup. Dossena seems to be trying to adapt to the league but keeps his head down , because he finds less space as in the majority of his serie A matches. I see Arbeloa still thinking he is in Austria. How many times has Carra saved him. Skertl keeps improving, but the usual "strong" midfield seems to be missing Mascherano.

I am concerned with the lack of width and now an injured Steve Gerrard.

The next two games versus Villa and Manu will be a greater litmus test for Rafa.

    Phil and Beto:

    Agreed on all points.

If Liverpool want to contend in the League this season, they have to take four of the next six points, eevn if Gerrard misses both games. The next two results will be very telling.

One of the things Rafa should do is give El Zhar more time. The little lad with the blue shoes makes quite a difference with his pace, skill, and enthusiasm on the wing. Liverpool with El Zhar on the field this season: 4 goals; without: none.

Liverpool did get a decent draw in the Champions League, I think they only side I see them struggling against is Atletico. They should be able to handle PSV
