Serves Liverpool right. Looks to me like this season is going to be a trophyless one for the reds; no chance in the league, out of the Carling cup, out of the FA cup, and a seriously long bet for the Champions League. Rafa has just thrown away any serious chance he had of winning anything, and therefore his one chance of staying at Liverpool.

I agree with you BillE Shears. The wouldn't have gone far anyway. Now they can concentrate on the EPL.

Not that I don't normally enjoy a good pile on Liverpool's misfortune. But, at this point, they need to concentrate on their league position first and foremost. From that perspective, this loss may have been good for them. An FA Cup wouldn't have mollified the fans had they finished sixth.
